Dr. Betty B. Bostani

Your Doctor & Advocate

Dr. Betty Bostani has been a Licensed Clinical Psychologist since 2004, specializing in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of individuals affected by neurodevelopmental issues such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disability, and Intellectual Disability, as well as those affected by anxiety, depression, and other related delays and disorders across the lifespan.

Her extensive experience in the field of autism began as a student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1994. She studied under the direct guidance of Dr. Ivar Lovaas, a pioneer in the research and development of early behavior intervention, and the first to discover with empirical evidence that typical functioning can be achieved with consistent and individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming. In addition to serving as a Teaching Assistant to Dr. Lovaas at UCLA, Dr. Bostani worked directly with children, adults, and families affected by autism at the UCLA Clinic for the Behavioral Treatment of Children. She provided ABA services, developed and supervised ABA programs, trained parents and their treatment teams on best practices, and collaborated with school districts and funding sources in support of the most comprehensive treatment model. At the Lovaas Institute, she also led training programs for directors of other national and international clinics in ABA. She later worked at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. (CARD), working closely with its founder, Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh. At CARD, Dr. Bostani received additional training in advancements in ABA programming and curriculum, and at both clinics, conducted standardized assessments to not only help guide on-going treatment but to also contribute to various clinical research collaborations.

In addition to her work in ABA, Dr. Bostani’s graduate education entailed comprehensive training in Neuropsychological Assessments as well as research in Pediatric Feeding Disorders. Her commitment to helping those struggling with feeding issues led to the development of a feeding scale, and a manual on prevention and intervention. With the understanding that the developmental period of feeding is a crucial step in overall childhood development, Dr. Bostani’s training and knowledge in this area allows her to assess and treat feeding issues of neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals .

Moreover, her practice has expanded beyond autism, working with those impacted by other neurodevelopmental impairments as well. Dr. Bostani has successfully helped thousands of individuals of all ages and at different stages of development. She has been an unyielding advocate for discovering the unique needs of children and adults struggling to navigate themselves at school, at work, or out in the social community. With Dr. Bostani, one finds a safe haven for hope and an opportunity to be heard with understanding, compassion, and expertise to guide a path for progress and success.
